    Default Janome QuiltMaker Pro 18

Please help ~ having tension issues on my longarm. Looks great on the top but BIG loops on the bobbin. Just started and yesterday it worked perfectly. Changed top thread and now this. Thinking i have an issue with threading it correctly but I’ve retreaded many times - cked the manual, watched YouTube videos. Any suggestions?
    thanks

Remember that when there are loops on the bottom, the problem is usually the top tension.

My longarm will occasionally loop on the bottom, right after I change the top thread. I've learned to floss the thread up into the tension disks, after every time I change the top thread. Also, it helps a lot to turn the needle slightly to the right.

Check to make sure the bobbin is threaded correctly, too, that it's wound smoothly, going through the slots and inserted with the thread coming off in the right direction. That could very well be the problem.

The Quiltmaker Pro 18 is a rebadged HandiQuilter Avante. You might want to search on their videos for threading.

Loops on the back are almost always upper thread tension too low (if it was the bobbin tension, the loops would be eyelashes on the top). Be sure the upper thread is "snapped" into the tension discs. Also, if you are using a different thread on top, you will need to adjust tension from a previous thread's setting.

Thanks for these suggestions. Rethreaded (again) and think the issue was the tension disc. Working fine now 👍
