I did treat my self to the Rowenta iron that was one of the doorbuster items but when I sat and read the instructions ( while sitting at Hancocks!!) I realized it doesn't have the auto shutoff my old iron has but then maybe this is a good thing because there is nothing worse than picking it up only to find it is cold!!

I stopped at JA on my way home from the gym - about 10 a.m.
I waited patiently to get near the flannel area and grabbed a few bolts I thought would work together for a rag quilt. Fabric cut and off to the checkout - while the cashier was ringing me up, I grabbed a Rowenta travel iron and asked the cashier to use the 50% off coupon. Arriving home, I found the 50% off was used on a $3.99 item. So back to JA I go. The cashier patiently explained that the coupon was not good for an iron, so I returned and and got my money back. I remembered a comment on this board some time ago, so I stopped at Bed Bath & Beyond to look at their irons. The same iron there was $39.99 and I used a 20% coupon. The iron at JA was $54.99. A BIG thank you to the person who posted about irons at BB&B.

Hold their feet to the fire. If it is an advertised special they must honor it.
