Things I learned and found while in Paducah.

I went to Paducah to find a few things on my shopping list. And while I was there I learned a few things too.
I was supposed to meet a family friend from Tennessee but she didn’t make it which left me with seeing the sights solo. It was great; I met so many wonderful women and all with great conversation and tips.

Renae Haddadin’s Red Snappers are to die for. They are going to make loading a quilt on my frame so easy and quick. No more blood spots from pricking myself with a straight pin. I spent about a half hour with her talking about frames and loading quilts. I can hardly wait to add them to my set up.

Martelli’s Zip Bind System and Stitch in the Ditch Binding Foot. I went looking for a binding attachment that I had seen on a Fon’s and Porter show. I left with this binding tool system. These tools will do more than just attach the binding. They will help me keep that perfect ¼ inch, not to mention the perfect 5/8ths and so much more. More then I can remember here. But it does come with a training video. All I need is the popcorn to watch this movie!

Sharon Schamber. Find her You Tube network, join her network and watch her videos. It’s like having you own personal instructor in your home. I heard her name in a conversation during lunch and when I returned to my hotel room I watched several on my smartphone. I first learned how to fold and cut a piece of fabric to make the perfect strips for binding. I also learned how to make my own portable pressing board. I know it doesn’t sound so hard, but I didn’t know. Now I do and I did! I used her technique to make a table size pressing table to sit next to my machine so that I don’t have to get up and go to my ironing board to press my seams as I go. I used a wood TV tray that I purchased at Wal-Mart for less than $10 plus the materials I already had a home. I love it.

Thanks, Mona. I just went in and ordered the Red Snappers. I didn't look at the other things you mentioned. I probably would have ordered them, also......... :roll:

I just watched Sharon Schamber's videos on binding. She is great and I think with her help via youtube I'll finally be able to control my binding problems. Wish I had heard of her sooner.

I love Renae, but I can't afford to purchase her products. Maybe some day...I hope!

Zip Bind system-that is another story.

Sharon Schambers is awesome, if I could afford $130 I would join. But it just isn't possible.

Yup, I've been watching the free ones apparently...I just click from video to video. I've watched about 8 of them.

I love the free ones, but I would just love to see the classes on quilting feathers. Oh, well...someday.
