If you love it--keep it then leave it in your will, to the person you originally thought of making it for. Sneaky, maybe, but hey, its your quilt and your fabric and your work and you deserve to keep it, love it and use it.

My daughter made a quilt that she didn't want to part with and gave the quilt away, turned around and duplicated it for herself.
    That works.

That is not being selfish, as soon as I make my family members there quilt, then I am going to make me one, or two :-D , but that wont be tell next year sometime. I have four more jean quilts to make, 2 this year and two the early part of next year, I am so excited to get the two done this yr, so I can start with bed size quilts for Christmas gifts. God bless.

Usually the only way I can give one away is if I plan before I start who it's for. Each stitch is a prayer for them, and when it's finished, I'm able to part with it. (Not easy, sometimes, though...)

I'm so happy to hear you say this since this is exactly how I feel. If the first stitch is for somebody, then the last one is for them, too, & it makes me happy knowing I'm about to surprise somebody special. They are special for me to put this effort out for them.
