I was reluctant to use mine when I bought my Janine last year but I took a class and the instructor said to use it. Now I love it. Keeps my hands free to use with the quilt pieces. Kathy

I have the Jonome 6600 with the knee lifter. I would like it but my leg is too short and my knee doesn't reach the lift. I have to put my foot on a stool which is then too high. It frustrates me.

My machine has one but I don't use it. I think it gets in the way more than it helps.

I love my knee pedal. If you are having trouble getting used to it just remember to keep your hands on the fabric and resist moving them until you create a new habit shouldnt take long. If the pedal doesnt seem to hit you right I cut a piece of a swimming noodle and slipped over the knee part to make it wider and a bit easier to use.

My Janome has one and it's like having a third hand. LOL I use mine all the time. It's very handy when quilting as it actually lifts higher than the regular lever. Just love it!

The Bernina I got 25 years ago had a knee-lift lever and I loved it. My Viking that I have now does not have one and I wish it did.

When I first learned to sew on my mother's machine, the pedal was located inside the sewing cabinet at knee level. To make the machine go, you pushed with your right knee. Now, many years later, when I have my knee lift lever in place, I keep trying to use it as my "gas pedal". So, it's easier for me to just not try to use it at all. Old habits die hard.
