If you can afford it, go ahead. If you can't afford, there are always alternatives. Eleanor Burns has on her website, how to make a kitchen table into a sewing table. It doesn't look difficult to make. If you handy with tools, I would think you can make one for far less than $3000. But, if you can afford it and don't want to have to make it yourself, then go ahead. It is your choice.

I have an older model of the Koala cabinets and love it. I have so much work space for my large quilts. I have never regretted buying it.

I do have one and love it. Have had it for 13 years and it still looks and functions like the fine peice of furniture it is.Very easy to put away if you absolutely have to (company coming!!)and hold a surprising lot of stuff. I don't think you would be sorry you bought it. Their chairs are also great, good support ,adjustable and roll around easily even on the carpet.

My DH bought me a koala cabinet with all the bells and whistles for this past Christmas. I love, love, love it! It has an enormous table extension for FMQ and tons of storage. I got it in white, which I really like as my fabrics show up better. One thing, though, it took my DH and my DD about three hours to assemble it and get the machine lift mechanism to work correctly--assembler error, not the cabinet's fault lol.

i got my Koala in September when I went to a show. I love it and the extra height. Being 6' tall the extra height is great. I can cut all day with not back aches! Yeah. I say go for it if you can afford it.

I have the Aussie from Kangaroo Kabinets and I love it. It goes for around $1000; you should check it out.

It's on my list as soon as the 830 is paid for. My DH bought me a Horn cabinet for my Bernina 150 so I feel the difference with the machine on top of a table instead of in it. I want Koala this time for the quality and the machine being totally enclosed when put away.
