My first thought is a door to a garden. Next thought is a door to a magical land. A small door to a world of fairies or hobbits. A brick wall with a door to it that is barely cracked open and you can see just a bit of the inside.

Here's my idea ... keep it simple!
Fussy cut some fabric with a kitty/doggy.
Sew a flap overtop, to make a 3-D kitty/doggy door.

Of course .... the rest of the quilt can be as much or as little as you want.

I might even make it a Or a kid's quilt, with a pocket of sorts inside the door ... so that the child could tuck their favourite stuffy inside.

I would make the whole quilt a door. Have it two layer. Open the quilt door (like a book) and reveal a scene. I'm thinking a panel of a scene with a door sewn on top.

start by doing a Google or Pinterest image search for doors or door quilts. See what sparks your interest!
