What a great table! did you know WalMart has this table for $109? It's out of stock right now online but I've seen them at Sam's Club and in some bigger Walmarts.

That table is great - Thanks for the link!

We have both a Wally world and Sams and I have never seen it in either (I bought regular folding tables at Sams for my sewing room). I will look more carefully next time just in case.

Please let us know what you think when you get them.

You think the keyboard area will be able to hold the weight of a sewing machine? I guess if Harriet Hargrave recommends it, it must work!!!

Do any of you that use a folding table, have trouble with it bouncing when you are sewing? When we have a bunch of us together to sew we use folding table and they bounce like crazy when you are sewing fast. Makes me motion sick.
On these computer tables do you think the shelf is strong enough for a sewing machine?

I would think that if you get it and are unsure if the shelf can support the weight of the machine, you could probably add some extra brackets underneath to help support it. Mine is a viking sapphire and it's very heavy.

It is supposed to support up to 100 pounds!

This would be a great table for free motion quilting! The ad says that it will hold "100 lbs. evenly distributed". So the drop down area might not hold much weight. I, too, have a Sapphire 850 and the machine is quite heavy. Is there anyone out there that has this table? Leah Day has one on her site for $124.00 and free shipping but it is not as big as this one. I guess you could add some brackets to hold a heavy machine. But I would be concerned that it wouldn't hold for long.

I own a Babylock Quest Plus that is a heavy machine. When the table comes in this week I will put the machine on it and take a picture. A sewing machine doesn't even come close weighing 100 pounds. I can't imagine Harriet Hargrave recommending this table if it couldn't support a sewing machine!

That will be great, oneygirl! That table would be perfect for fmq. Nice size and it looks pretty sturdy, too.
And like we said, if Harriet Hargrave recommends it, it must work okay! Anxious to hear from you when the table comes in! kat
