I just got a renewal form from Quilter's newsletter magazine...when did it become $71.88 for a 2 yr subscription?

Needless to say, I am not renewing it....They have gone down hill the last 2 years and I rarely find anything word reading in them anymore...too many patterns, and not enough information!

Have you noticed if others are getting that costly?

Whoa. My sister said she is going to subscribe to that one and I guarantee she wouldn't pay that.

That isn't a correct price. Something strange is happening.

I just looked it up for you and at Quilter's Newsletter it is only $17.97 for first years subcription. Because I knew I wouldn't have paid that for mine.

The last few days I've been buying older issues of quilting magazines on ebay. I found 10 magazines for $4.00 with $3.75 shipping - they are:
    McCall's Oct 2009, Quilt Sampler Fall/Winter 2004, Quiltworks Jan 99,Nov 97, Quilt Spring 98, Summer 98, Quilter's Newsletter Magazine Oct 2000, Sept 2000,Sept 1995, March 1996.

The first I bought were 3 separate posts:
5 issues of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine
    Jan/Feb 2001, March 2001, May 2001, June 2001, July/Aug 2001
5 issues of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine
    Oct. - Dec. 1999
    Jan/Feb & March 2003
5 issues of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine
    from Jan. - June 2000
which I got for 99 cents for each set of 5 and with combined shipping my total was a whopping $8.52 !!

And I guess the bug had bitten so I also bought another 35 quilting magazine assortment including American Patchwork & Quilting, Quilter's Newletter Magazine, Quilt World, Sew Many Quilts, Quick Quilts, Quilting Today, Big Block Quilts, McCall's Quilting, Quilt Sampler and more.....
which I won for $22.52 plus $8.25 shipping.

Let's see.... a total of 60 magazines for $47.04...that would be less than 80 cents an issue. No more subscription buying for me, just comparing auction postings to my growing list of magazines to see if I want to bid. My first buy is probably going to be here tomorrow, and I can't wait to start going through them. So, they're not new. Most of my copies were second hand from thrift stores and they have wonderful patterns. You'd be surprised what someone would send to Goodwill. lol

You see, I thought something was terribly wrong..I am very frugal about magazine costs, and I know I would never have subbed for that..I have had this sub for 15 years....I think I am going to call them tomorrow...This whole thing from Reno looks ODD....

Just make sure you know what you are buying. Going back that far, some of those magazines were still done in Black & white on Newsprint , NOT real magazine paper! Many were just starting rotary cutting and the directions are a mess!
They are great for inspiration, but be careful!
