I have so many rotary cutters, but now I have arthritis in my thumb joint and I really need to get an ergonomic cutter. Has anyone tried both Martelli and True Cut? Or either of them? I'd love to hear your thoughts. I can't afford to get a cutter and new rulers all at once. Will True cut work with other brand rulers? It looks like the Martelli will, but their rulers look really good, too.

I tried the true cut but it was the old version cutter and I didn't like it or the rulers. I have the martelli now but just got it so I haven't had the chance to try it out yet.

I have the Martelli and like it a lot. I prefer a smaller handle. Tried a friend's true cut and thought the handle was a bit big, however, just made one or two cuts, not a really good test.

I have the Martelli in two sizes. It's my "go to" cutter, easy to hold, I can get the right leverage to keep it next to the ruler. It take some practice to get into the habit of closing the blade, but it opens up with a little pressure when you start to cut. I had the spring for the blade shield go bad on one. Maybe I just wore it out.

I bought the Martelli cutter last time Connecting Threads had 50% off their tools. I really like the cutter, but I haven't tried to cut more than 6 layers. Their YouTube video indicates you can cut a LOT more than that. It is easy on the wrist and easy to use. I'm still transitioning between it and my Olfa ergonomic.

I have both , have arthritis, and like and use both. (I do not use the tru cut rulers.)

I have the Martelli and it's much easier for me to use with arthritis. I'm honestly not sure why, but somehow the pressure is applied differently and it works much better for me.

I have the Martelli cutter and love it. I have problems with my wrists and hands because of carpal tunnel problems. The Martelli cutter does not aggravate them. The cutter works with both their rulers and regular acrylic rulers. Also, I have noticed that since I started using it, my cutting accuracy has improved considerably. I am able to control my rulers better with my non-cutting hand.

The video I saw said that the blade can last a lot longer in the Martelli cutter, maybe even 5 yrs. Does anyone think that is so, or, at least, longer tnan in regular cutters?

I believe the lifetime of blades in Martelli cutters is comparable to other cutters. They do get dull after a while.
