    Default missouri star quilt

A week ago a friend and I returned to Wisconsin from Hamilton, MO. We spent 3 days there, shopping and talking with people from all over. We did get to see Jenny Doan in a trunk show - we got tickets in April and those on a retreat there had tickets included, so there were over 40 folks for her sold out show. If you get a chance, go to it, as she doe it as a tutorial, rather than just showing finished quilts. Take lots of photos and notes. My friend won (the Gold Star promo) a table runner kit and we got to meet and greet Jenny, a different day than the trunk show.
About the shopping - I really exceeded my budget, but it was fun. If you go, take the elevator upstairs to the kids, backs, seasonal, and Cotton and Steel shops (they all are connected). In the backing store, there is a cabinet with remnants of backs - which can be used for yardage. They are reasonable and are reduced in price as well. Loved the batik store. For lunch, there are at least 3 restaurants, two of which we visited.

I would love to go again, but I now have enough fabric to last me a good while. Oh, wait, there is a quilt show in two weeks, gotta go --------

So happy for you and your friend and glad to hear you had a wonderful trip. That sounds so fun and hope I can get back there someday. Great review for MSQC

We swung through there last fall as we were driving to CO. I didn't get to experience more than the shopping and eating at a cute restaurant, but it was really fun.

I felt the same way when I was able to meet EB at Quilt Market. Hope her broken leg is healing quickly!

That sounds like so much fun! I'm glad you had a good time.
When DH and I were on a driving trip through New Hampshire, it was about an hour detour to Keepsakes Quilting. I said I want to go there for a few hours. He said that will take 1/2 day off our schedule. ? So I said okay I'll drive my car and you drive yours. We didn't have a deadline that 1/2 day made any difference at all. Just his silly mindset of have to get there from point A to B. When he realized I would be driving my car with or without him, he said you're right, it really doesn't make a difference where we stop or how long.

Ooh I'm turning green with envy! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. One of my wishes is to visit there along with keepsake quilting. Three days sounds like a good time period to be able to visit and see all those lovely fabrics.

It's on my list to get to see one of Jenny's trunk shows. And to those who haven't met her in person, she's every bit as sweet in person as she is on her videos. Congrats to your friend for the table runner win!

Next summer DH and I are going on a road trip through OK to see Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummonds new mercantile store and then on to MSQCo.
