Moving to Maui, any ideas for a quilter?

Maybe you will get to meet Lisa Boyer. I think she lives over there somewhere. I don't remember if she still does or which island. If you havn't read her books she is so funny. Just make sure you are sitting up. I nearly choked to death because I was reading in bed. LOL, no seriously.

Oh, how wonderful for you. I loved Maui so much the times I visited (many years ago) and thought I would love to live there, except for leaving my family behind. I felt such peace and love there and enjoyed swimming in the beautiful clear waters. Love the fruit, fish and weather. Enjoy and do keep us posted on life as an Islander. Robin Jones Gunn lives in Maui now. Don't know if she quilts but she is the author of the SisterChicks books. If you haven't read them you are missing out. What a fun bunch of books. You can find her on facebook or a web search for her books. Sorry this isn't about quilting as much as books. But I enjoyed them so much, maybe some of you will also.

My parents lived on the big island for 30 years, so I went there often, but never to Maui. I always wanted to, and would love to follow your adventure- best of luck to you!

Hope your home will be air conditioned - humidity and salt in the air will not be good for your machines. (I'm from Hilo and have had first hand experience with corrosion.)

What an adventure for you. My husband and I have talked about someting similar of renting in Maui for 3 to 6 months just to see what it is like, how expensive the overall living costs are and if we would enjoy it full time. However, our daughter is getting married next summer so it will have to wait until after that momentous ocassion.
I've PM'd you and would love to hear about where you are renting and how you selected the place. We did not take the time to look for rental property the last time we were there and have only looked on-line which is not very satisfactory to me.
