My sister has that exact same cabinet - it belonged to our mother and she got to keep it since I lived too far away to get it home - plus I didn't have a place for it! You will love it - I can't remember where it came from but I sure wish I could pry it away from my sister - she doesn't sew much if any at all anymore. Have a wonderful time with your new sewing place.

My favorite part was all the trims, scissors, elastic, Velcro, button, gadgets, etc. The original owner's name was in a box, "Nora". By the looks of a little note I found in there, and some other things, she probably passed away about ten years ago and her family donated it recently. I love sewing at it because everything is so handy and I can close it all up easily when I need to. I was so happy to find it and I suspect Nora would be happy to know it's in the hands of a very appreciative quilter.
I got my cabinet just like this one from So-Fro Fabrics before Joann's Fabrics bought them out.

Nice purchase - I hesitated buying a similar one as the asking price was $1,000.00...

How neat. Don't think they made lots of those. You are lucky to find it so cheap.
