Default my brother pe 770 can't read my jump drive

I have a new-to-me brother pe770. I can use the built in patterns, but i don't know how to add new ones. I have a jump drive that came with it, and the person who owned it before me has a few things on it, but i can seem to get it to work for me. I go to a website, download something new, and i believe i am trasnferring the data to the jump drive, but when i insert it into my machine, nothing new is there. any suggestions?

Did you get an owners manual with it? I have the PE770 as well and it took looking at the pics in the manual to help me. If you don't have one I will try to explain it

OMG I have the same problem, except I bought mine new. it seems to go to the jumpdrive, when you look on the computer, I think what goes is an outline file, but the stitch file never goes. I've had my machine for over 7 months now and can't figure it out. if you do. please, pm me. thanks

I'll try and explain but my computer skills are severly lacking!

With your machine turned on plug the memory stick into the machine. You have to tap the pitchfork looking thing on the screen to bring up the imported designs. In the upper corners of the display screen you will see -10 / +10 that will move the designs in increments of 10. The arrow keys will move the designs one by one. Choose your design by tapping it. Adjust your pattern if you need to....

    I hope this helps.

I just took my Babylock embroidery/sewing machine back to the store where I bought it last week for the same exact problem. They updated my software to a newer version and now it has been working perfect. I should also tell you that they didn't even charge me and I bought the machine last and the warranty ran out. They also updated while I waited. I was expecting to leave it there for a couple of weeks.

Your machine will only read certain file types. (look at your owner's manual, I think they are .PES files, but you need to check). So make sure that you are downloading the correct format for your machine.
The other thing is that many embroidery sites will download the files in a compressed format, usually a ZIP file. When you download a compressed file, you need to find it on your PC, right click on it and select 'extract'

From what I have read, use a jump/flash drive without to much memory, and do not use DiscScan (I think) brand. I load only what file I plan on using at one time. I store all my designs on my computer.

Paper Princess is correct.....it does use the .PES format. I hope you it's an easy fix for you both!

I am happy to report I solved part of my problem. I deleted all the files on my jump drive and reloaded two of them. For some reason it worked, I only took the entire day, but I did learn something!
