Default My dumb move, what would you do?

I fussy cut the cutest little bunny wrapped and nibbling on a cabbage leaf, then log cabined a sweet green checked fabric and a nice blue around the bunny square. I had my rows sewn together and after sewing 2 rows together I discovered that I had the first row of bunnies upright and the second row of bunnies were upside down. My girlfriend happened to stop by and said she liked it like that, the bunnies would be upright from top to bottom however it was turned. Would you leave it like that or would this improvised pattern too odd?

I think your girlfriend is right. When you use the quilt on a bed it is always a good idea to rotate it periodically. That way it wears evenly. By the bunnies alternating there is no up or down side. Also the person sleeping under it gets to see bunnies are always half right side up.

If it doesn't look too odd, I say leave it! I agree with your gf, there would be no true top or bottom then.

If it was as easy as removing the row and switching it I would. If the log cabin blocks themselves had to be deconstructed, maybe not. I would continue the pattern with one row up and one row down as long as it worked out across the quilt. If I had enough fabric I might use that row for something else and make different blocks.

I would turn the bunnies in all directions. But then I'm a scrappy girl and my quilts are usually unorganized, I've never fussy cut. It sounds really cute.

I usually deliberately make my motifs face all directions (no matter what the pattern calls for) so the quilt can be rotated (or at least flipped top to bottom), so I say leave it.

I AGREE again with Tartan !! YOU have to decide what you want to deal with. There is nothing wrong with making a row of bunnies one way and then the other way.

Unless the quilt is hanging on a wall, I don't think it would matter. I'm with those that turn motifs in all directions, so there is no "up" or "down".
