I am FINALLY getting around to making a quilt for my son (age 8), and after hours (and hours!) of looking at patterns, I found a really cute and simple one made from rail fence & nine patch blocks. I made about 6 blocks for a "test drive", and showed my son. Well... I can always figure I'll get a totally honest answer when I ask him, and he wants an "Army quilt" (he considers a camo quilt "army"). Sooooo, I have NO camo fabric in my stash so I need to buy some & have the stuff cut out BEFORE leaving for vacation (where I plan to quilt and to nothing else) which is in 2 1/2 weeks.

Sorry to ramble, but I wondered if there are any JoAnn's coupons out there. I had one but, of COURSE, it expired two days ago. :(

You are a much nicer mom then me. My kids got what I wanted them to have when they were young. LOL. My friend just made her grandson a quilt from his dad's military fatigues he wore in Afghanistan. You may find many camo hunting shirts at Goodwill or thrift stores.

Thanks! I attached my 'idea' for his quilt, and I'm trying to keep in mind that I don't want to make something he will outgrow. I thought perhaps of removing the striped & inserting the camo-type fabric so it's not too overpowering since the theme is green (his walls are painted a darker green). I want to keep it simple because it's not a big deal to him now at his age, so it's certainly not something he'll 'cherish'. That one will come later. :)

The OTHER option is if any already HAS some cotton camo fabric that they don't want and would consider selling. I need about 3 yards.
