I love the simplicity of the D9P and have discovered if you use theme fabric for the corners, and co-ordinating fabrics for the rest, it makes a fun interesting quilt. I spy works great this way, and can be done in fabrics that are not babyish.

I made this, which I consider a boy's quilt, by using charm squares of a boyish fabric with a contrasting background fabric (the red dots). Very simple but cute. I used one charm pack for this 42" square quilt. You could make a twin bed size with two charm packs and some more borders.

Just another thought to share. I love I Spy quilts as I said earlier, but I just wanted to mention that they can be made appropriate to any age. I have even made them for adults, just using their favorite things for the fabric selections. Hugsss and smiles and happy creating!!

Check this out: http://www.trianglesonaroll.com/snakes.aspx - It on the triangles on a roll website, but I'm sure you can figure out how to adapt it without the triangles on a roll. I just think looks fun and it's just adorable. Enjoy.

Lat summer I made matching quilts for twin nieces, but change the colors and it would be great for a boy...Gone to the Dogs by judydidit. Also had fun making Critters by Brandywine Designs

Last year I downloaded free a pattern called Royal Critters, from Wyndham (sp?) fabrics to make a quilt for an expected newborn. It turned out great and I used fat quarters and scraps for it. It is perfect for a newborn with the bright colors and cute critters.

I find that 3-D Pinwheels unique & very easy. I made one for a mature lady friend & she thinks I'm the most clever person she knows. LOL. I used a solid block with every other pinwheel block.

So please post some pictures or links of something I might want. Thanks!
