Just purchased a beautiful panel made of butterfly squares. Never made a quilt from pre-printed fabric squares. Any ideas?

    Thanks

For some panels, you just add borders and quilt it. Or add a border, and some pieced blocks, and another border.

For others, you can cut the premade squares and add sashing around the blocks, then add borders. Or put the premade squares into other blocks such as the wonky square, or the center of a star, add sashing (optional) and borders.

If you want to add blocks, you probably need to add a border that is divisible by the size of block that u would use. If you did a design with 2" squares, the panel length and width needs to be dividable by the number 2. Good Luck! You might try the advance search and see if any previous quilts from panels have been posted.

What do you want to do with it? Will it be a wall hanging or a bed quilt or a throw?

Lately I have used panels to make baby quilts for newborns. I did framing borders, and the parents plan to use them as wall hangings once the babies are too big for them.
