    Default Need placemat pattern ideas

I have four pre-printed blocks. They are 5 inches wide x 7 inches tall. The pictures are silhouettes of flowers. The flowers are all dark browns on tan backgrounds edged in a lighter brown. I would like to use these pictures in four placemats. Any ideas. These colours will really fit into my soon to be newly painted dining room.

Using them in the center of log cabin blocks would be cute, then you can frame them-- add to make them the size/ shape you want your placemats. Or, use them in center of star blocks- frame from there...there are so many blocks you can turn those blocks into. Frame them to make them square then make them square in a square on points... Show up pictures!

They might look nice in an asymmetrical setting. You could fill in the side and bottom with little sashed squares in matching prints.

I think first you need to decide the size of placemat that you want. Then you can go from there adding borders or maybe some sort of blcoks like flying geese around the pre-printed fabric.

This method might work if you are not cutting off something important in the corner. You could make the 1st border a little wider and then the second border to finish it off to the size that you want.
