I ordered online from HF, and was sent a postcard that they were on back order - well that was SIX months ago, still havent' got them. My DH stops in at HF all the time, and picks me up a couple packages each time, he does leave some for the next husband.

Even with postage the Harbor Freight blades are still much cheaper than LQS. I have not had any problems with them skipping.

My store was out too so I ordered them online. Took about a month or so to get them (I even forgot about them). But I haven't tried them yet.

I've had sporadic luck with my HF blades. The first one fine but lasted less than one quilt's worth of cutting. The second was junk right from the get-go. It kept feeling like I was rolling it over a bump, like a fold in the fabric. So I tried it without any fabric and it still felt like it was rolling over a bump plus it skipped in a lot of places. The third is in my cutter now. I've used it for about 16 blocks' worth of squaring up and it's starting to skip. I have to run it over the fabric 3 or 4 times before it gets it all the way cut. So I don't think I'll bother buying them there anymore. I'll wait for a coupon or a sale at J's.

btw I did not use any kind of blade or scissors to open the pkg so I know the blade wasn't nicked, at least not by me.

I got really lucky...about a year ago I bought 45 packages of rotary blades on eBay...a mix of 28mm, 45mm and 60mm blades, all packs of 5, for $25.00. Since I use all three blades I figured it was a good deal, especially since most of the packages were 45mm. Since then, I've paid attention to the prices of blades and know I got a super deal on my Olfa blades!

That seems rather rude to me as well. I bought 2 packs when I went to HF. I always want to leave some for others.

did you tighten the screw down to tight so the blade dosen't roll well, that will make it skip....

Thanks for the heads up! My DH and I went to Harbor Freight yesterday - they had about 10 packs of the blades hanging up and I bought 5 - haven't tried them yet. I also found the micro vacuum attachment pack so I can really clean out my machines! (learned about it from another thread on this most excllent board!) DH thought it was funny I wanted to go to HF, he got a kick out of it. ;)
