The math part is OK, but I hate ironing. So I say, "You are not ironing. You are pressing. Pressing is part of the sewing process". But what I really hate is cutting, especially the same size pieces over and over and over.

You don't "iron" - you press the blocks. BIG DIFFERENCE.
You don't "do math" - you simply figure out the size of pieces to cut from basic guidelines so you can have the perfect square. See, that was easy.

I HATE ironing......but will happily press fabric pieces for HOURS!!!!!! Perhaps it is part of the quilting gene we have all been 'infected' with!!!!

I was never really good at math until I started quilting! I've always loved to iron. The ironic part to that is I like to iron in the summer time when it's already hot out! Never could figure that one out.

Now me, I love the ironing and the math! Always hated the basting. 100 quilt tops and counting. :-D

You're all right... somehow the thrill of creation makes even the tedious tasks satisfying.

Next mystery: will I ever be able to go through the checkout line at Hobby Lobby without buying a Cherry Mash?
