    Default Old Bernina 1230

Anyone out there still using an old Bernina 1230. Mine has had a few repairs over the years but is still so reliable and easy to use. No knots and jams like I dealt with when I learned to sew on my Mom's black Singer that she bought in 1945. I've looked at the new ones but just wouldn't trade. Just love the needle down/needle up feature. My sewing machine and I are growing old together!

I love my Bernina 1230. Have had it somewhere between 15 and 20 years, and it is still as reliable as the day I bought it. Love the way it purrs as I sew. If I could age as well as my 1230, I'd be very happy!

I love my Bernina 1530 and she is still quilting for me. I do need to get her in for servicing. I hope that the machine outlast my lifetime because I wouldn't want to buy another DSM.

I use a Bernina 1260. I like it better then the new 830 which the local dealer is beside herself to sell me one. LOL. I don't see the need when my 1260 has all the features I use for 90% of my sewing.

I have a lovely 1530 that was given to me by a friend about 4 years ago. My friend's mother passed away and my friend does not sew. I had the machine fixed up and invested in a few accessories. I think this machine will outlast me.

I have a 1260 that was 20 years old on News Years Eve. She is not my only Bernina but I use her often and she still sews beautifully. I can't imagine giving her up.

Those older Berninas are Fabulous! Hang onto them and pass them down to the next generation.

I love all four of my machines, but if I could keep only one, it would be my 1230.

Thanks for your replies! I'm kind of isolated out in the woods here and was just wondering if I was the only one who loves her old Bernina! Read that there are websites for vintage Berninas on yahoo. I will have to check that out.
