Default origin of quilt patterns? how many quilting patterns??

    http://www.vatican.va/various/cappel..._vr/index.html

This is the Sistine Chapel in Italy. While the artwork is breath-taking, check out the floor! So many quilt patterns are found there!! You can zoom in or out by using the + or - in the bottom left.

Thank you. My neice (a quilter) also was inspired by the tiles she saw in Italy, and not just at the Vatican but everywhere. She's making blocks even as we speak (text, blog, type whatever!).

I went to Italy in June of last year...I too, was immediately put into design overload! There is just an absolute marvel of "quiltable" designs in that country!
