Nice quilt. I hope you figure out who it came from.

I am totally fascinated by this whole thread. My great grandmother, who lived to be 3 months short of 100, always talked about Paris and lived there at some point, I think. She had wonderful stories to tell. Her name was Tommie, though she was not one of the Tommies named on the quilt.

What a wonderful thing all of you are doing. (I will talk to my mom about this, though I doubt she can help with your task.) I will be watching to see what else is discovered.

yes, sad on one part....but very exciting that it has found a home in the hands of someone who cares enough to complete it...and find out the history. I, too, am planning to follow this thread as I find this very interesting. My DIL grew up in Paris, will forward the pic and list to her and see if she can help. Thanks for posting this....really fascinating!! Be sure and keep us posted of your "finds"

I stumbled across this post and also found some info. Mrs. W H Siddle is Rosa Coplin Siddle. Some of these people are buried in the cemeteries in Paris. You could write to the library there. I also used the whitepages.com and there were Coplins living there still. What a wonderful quilt.

Thank you ALL so very much for your interest and information about the people whose names are on this quilt... You are a precious group of quilting ladies, and all so very willing to share.

A HUGE special THANK YOU to ACHANCY on this QB... she has done a tremendous amount of work on this, following one thread after another in her search for information on the family names.

    ACHANCY is our heroine!

Death August 21, 1978 in Lamar County, Texas, USA
    William Holmes Siddle 1884 – 1968
    Tommie Jo Siddle 1910 – 1988 married
    Euless Marcellous Giddens 1909 – 1989
    child: Euless Marcellous Giddens 1935 – 1989
he married a Carter and they had a daughter
