    Default Pillow case for Quilt

Ok, I know I saw this somewhere but now I can't find it. Guess I'm not sure what search parameters to use - so I'll try it this way.
I'm looking for inspiration to make a pillow case/sham that you put the quilt in to store it. Does that make sense? I thought it might be a nice way to gift a quilt. Kinda in it's own packaging.
And no, I'm not talking about a quillow. I've made plenty of quillows so far and I'm not really cracked on them.
Also, another purpose - I have a Christmas quilt I like to use. Now that I have very little storage, I was thinking if I make a pillow sham to store the quilt in, then I can store it on my bed year-round.

I store most of my quilts in pillow cases. they are cotton and it keeps the dust off and keeps them away from any wood they might come in contact with.

sorry I reread the post. you can make any kind of pillow case for your quilt. one with the same fabric as the quilt would be cute and a good way to gift a quilt

Have you ever heard of a “burrito pillowcase” - all of the seams inside and outside are finished. It’s a pretty slick method!

Here is a project we did back in 2014 that has a drawstring so makes a good storage for a quilt. 1-February-2014 Project of the Month, Gift Bag Pillowcase

Is it a 'quillow' that you are looking for? Here is one method.

I use cotton pillow cases to store my quilts also. I sometimes can find them at thrift stores. I also have 2 extra bedrooms and I put the quilts on the beds layer after layer.

There are many tutorials for sewing the burrito style pillowcases out there. My favorite is this one:

    https://youtu.be/tOaEHBKKiAU

It makes a very pretty pillowcase and they are super easy to make. One thing I do differently, I sew down the accent strip. I found that it tends to curl up after washing/drying.

Here is a nice selection of pillowcase patterns too:
