I make these for my two GS so as to stay in touch with them since they are in FL and I am in NC. They are fun, easy, and fairly quick. I now do the French seams for the finishing edges and they look so professional ... which I am not!!! Have been making them for birthdays, holidays and themed (soccer, Cat in the Hat, etc.) The boys love them. I never can figure out what to make little boys so the tutorial/pattern from Missouri Quilts was a great find for me. Hope you have fun with the 6 year old!

Our guild made 40 one night. Each person brought 2 yards of fabric and we sewed assembly-line style for 1-1/2 hours. Three seams, about 15-20 minutes and you're done! We donated them to the local women's shelter.
