    you said you were going to sash in black? If so, try black as the center...if not use a solid something...not one of the prints from the blades....jmho

    Yes, the gold is best. Maybe you could get some of the Christmas fabric that has a lot of glitsy sparkle fabric for the sashing or even one of the borders, that would give it a lot of sparkle that maybe you are looking for. They have such pretty elegant fabric for the holidays. Good luck. so far its very nice.

    Haven't read all of the responses, but don't recall ever seeing a dresden plate with a fabric with a design in it. There is enough print in the sections so think you need a plain fabric. The colors are beautiful.
