Beautiful Dresden!

    What about a 'double' center?

The gold pops out but takes the eye away from the plate. The red is my choice because it adds to the beauty of the block. However, I always tell my students that the quilt is yours and whatever you feel good with is the best choice.

When I checked it the first time I wasn't sure - when I went back again the gold spoke to me as it makes it look very regal and victorian however, it is your project and you should pick the color that you love the most - once you decide it'll be easy and will end up beautiful.

Beautiful double centers, if you decide to go with double think about going around that twice. The first time is bad enough. Keeping it round is another story. I had twelve to do last August and I almost went crazy. I was so happy when they were all done.
