Sashing or the quilt looks too busy. That is my feeling when I look at it.

I'll weigh in on no sashing. The secondary patterns come through with out the sashing.

I am normally a sashing person, but that one is better without it if you want the look. I like the look that is so different from the first one. As one lady said, the effect of the sashing is that you have a bunch of leftover blocks that you want to make a quilt out of, (which is fine), but the second one is a whole different look. I like it.

I usually like sashing, but I like this without. It's gorgeous and playful.

I like the sashing! Am quilting a scrappy quilt right now. So much fun.

I think I would go with the one without the sashing..

Having made a few scrappies I prefer them with sashing and cornerstones as it helps to "fix" the size because of all the seams you get, but any choice you make will make a beautiful quilt with those blocks.

    Will be cool when done.

Yes! What she said. The sashing makes the individual blocks stand out and with scrappy I like to see them all playing together nicely. JMHO

Just play with them, and have fun. See what strikes your fancy. That's the beauty of scrappies. (Boy, I was a lot of help, heh?)

It depends on the look you want. I would not use sashing because I like the look of scrappy quilts. To me, the sashing makes it "formal". If that makes any sense.
