Do you know the name of this little yellow gadget for marking fabric?
Don't know if it's still available but I bought it in the 80's/90's in the US
so some of you might know what I'm talking about. It's in two parts.
One has a pin and one has a hole. You put the pin through one side of the
fabric and the other part on the other side and you twist and turn together
to mark both sides and it marks just a dot less than 1/4". It comes with
different colors of chalks (white, blue, red and yellow). Sorry if my
explanation is not very clear. By the way, it's NOT taylor's chalk although
the chalk part could be the same. Thanks for your help.

I remember using them but haven't seen them in forever. Yes they were chalk, just the pin in the middle lined them up so you'd mark both pieces of fabric at the same time. Don't know if they're still around.
You did describe them very well.

It was to mark darts in garment sewing. Probably the best place to find them is in antique shops or flea markets in a booth that sells sewing/kniting etc supplies. I had some recently that I got in a box of old sewing stuff but gave it to a thrift shop.

Thanks. I found it. I searched for "fabric dart marking tool".
It's called Tailor Tacker. And here's a picture for those interested.

I also remember and have one. They are great! for marking fabric. I haven't seen them around either, but haven't been looking either.

I remember my mom having several of those. We kids used to sneak them to write on the sidewalk until my mom got wise and realized we were using her stuff and so our butts got blistered. We never touched them again.
