    Default Quilt pattern suggestions needed

I was at JoAnns yesterday and found the most gorgeous coordinating fabrics (Keepsake Calico 50% off). There was a small floral print, a small scroll design print, a large scale floral, and a border design using all the fabrics. I also found a print that would read as a solid that matched and a batik that could also be used for a solid. What a is good pattern to use for a large scale print and the border fabric that would be using them in the no traditional way?

Without actually seeing the fabric, it's hard to say.

Attic windows is the 1st thing that came to my mind....

the pattern "Just Can't Cut It" comes to mind with a total of six fabrics, where the large scale print is cut into 12.5 blocks and gets to be showcased. It is a pattern that includes layouts for several sizes, from table-topper to king.

There is a pattern called Easy Breezy. You start with 2 yards (more or less, depending on how big you want to make your quilt). Remove the selvages, then add a 2" (finished) border. Cut the coordinating fabrics into varied widths (2", 2-1/2", 3", 4") strips, then sew the strips together in different sets (I usually cut the strips in half instead of using the WOF so I'll be able to get more combinations), then cut the strip sets into 6" blocks. Sew the blocks together to make a piano key border. Then finish with another 2" border.

How about the Oriental Garden? It's an awesome pattern - and works up fast.

I've made several and they always come out really really great. I even did one that used only two colors of fabric and it was gorgeous.

Well an update to my question. I went to the dentist and ended up having much more work done than anticipated. So when I left the dentist I was in too much pain to go back to JoAnns. The sale is now over and I refuse to pay full price. What's meant to be will be.
