    Default quilt of valor

I posted my picture of the quilt I was making for my daughter the other day. Now I am wondering if I wanted to fmq the panel seperate from the quilt using silk thread for hilights on the eagle and the flag does this sound like it could be done then quilt the quilt on the longarm I hope I am making sense. I just know I am not talented enought using the longarm for such detail work.

I have done a similar thing-----but I do the long arm quilting first. I am not good at outlining on the HQ.

Sounds reasonable but then I don't have a LA. I have a QOV ready to quilt on my domestic machine and am afraid to start it -- I have the ideas just don't want to spoil it!

I have quilted the rest of the quilt first, running some long basting stitches through the panel to keep everything in place. When I was ready to quilt the panel, I pulled the long basting stiches out of the section I was quilting/highlighting before I started. Good luck!
