I quilted a baby quilt using Stich-in-the ditch last night, but even though the wadding package says it can be quilted 8" apart, I am a bit nervous. I like it as it is now and can't think of what to add should I quilt it more, but my quilting is about 5"-6" apart.
Can I trust the wadding instructions that it won't shift with washing after a while?

I think you can trust the instructions, but on a baby quilt, I always like to add more.

Me too, adding more. Baby quilts get washed a LOT and dragged around as they grow older.

Hi Stummel, which brand of wadding is it? If it says 8" then I would think that 5 or 6" should be fine.

I would think you have enough quilting on it. The more you quilt the stiffer & heavier it gets.

You can trust the batting instructions, but, I agree that baby quilts get washed a lot, so a little more quilting would be prudent. Don't quilt too much, though, as above, it does get stiffer and don't drape as nicely.

I just like more quilting than that. You can trust their instructions if you want to.
