My favourite, most-used gadget just broke recently. "That Purple Thang" If it wasn't so inexpensive, I'd have a new one by now, but don't want to pay as much in postage as for the item. None of the shops I checked out carried it, so need to purchase online.

Ordered 2 pairs on the 21st and they arrived today on the 25th. We live in kitty-korners of the U.S. so they must have caught a flight. I am happy with the snips which I use ALL the time and their postage was very reasonable. I am a happy camper, I mean quilter!

I got mine at a cookware store - it is for rolling pasta. works great for pressing seams when I don't want to use the bigger clapper

My go to, most favorite tools which are must haves for me are my Tucker Trimmer ruler, 6x24 ruler, magic wand(the ruler to mark 1/4" on either side to make half square triangles), my olfa rotary cutter and map. I'm a gadget girl so I'm a sucker, but I use those items every day.

    These are our favorites...

Tru Cut rulers and Rotary Cutter by Grace Co for cutting strips
    Tru Cut rotary blade sharpener
    Stilleto
Clover Patchwork Pins Fine... Glass heads, very fine, can be stitched over but I rarely do.
    Deb Tucker rulers...Love them all.

i've been quilting for hundreds of years, and my only gadgets are my cutter, mat and some basic rulers. I McGuyver it the rest of the way. I'm to cheap to spend money on gadgets. Oh, and my original brooklny Revolver.

and a shout out to Brooklyn Revolver people. Got the original one years ago. I went to a show and complained that the mat slid off the revolver part. glue was gumming everything up. I went back the next day, and they gave me a brand new one. Amazing, great customer service.

I have to have my seam ripper, my quarter in ruler, my stiletto, my rotary cutter, and the rest is standard. I have several rulers I use, but lately I have my paper piecing book, and the cd is invaluable with it. I don't know what I would do without my printer. If I have to though a needle and fabric will get me through. I think I could even paper piece if I had too now with only that.

My quilting life literally changed for the better when I got these two items:

    1. LED light strip for my sewing machine... what a difference it makes!
    2. Tiltable table to angle my machine forward.... no more neck pain!
