Default Quilting with sheets as a backing on LA

I have a customer who wants to use a sheet as a backing for me to LA. What problems, if any, might I expect and what size needle should I use? I have a Nolting Funquilter.

l've used sheets, no problem...use a fine polyester thread and a fine needle ( that penetrates the dense weave better than the larger ones).

I've not had any problems, I have customers who use sheets all the time. I do prefer 100% cotton ones but I've had to do a few with cotton/ poly blends. Your needle size depends on the thread being used. Visit Superior Threads , they have free charts that show what needle to use with what thread.

I guess my main question is do I use a finer needle or heavier needle?

I also have quilted using sheets as backing and just matched the needle to the thread weight as I usually do.

I use sheets all the time and love it....you do not have to measure. What ever is left over on the sides and bottom and top I just fold over and use it for my borders.
