I too, say it's your house, do what you are comfortable with.

Happy birthday early. Don't worry about all this, life is too short and we have to keep quilting.

wait a minute, there's suppose to be a color Scheme? oh my, I guess I'm just not with it. I just use whatever colors I like. There isn't any planned scheme in my house. do what you like. Of course if you are making anything for her, you might want to follow her color scheme.

I didn't know I way supposed to have a color scheme. I just put things I like in my house. I just built the retirement home of my dreams, a log cabin on the river and I have a mix of very old and very new. My favorite table topper is a part of an old crazy quilt my grandmother made and never finished. I put a binding on it and it is on an antique trunk in my living room. The colors in it don't match anything else and it looks great.

After I divorced my first husband I developed a saying "This is my house and I'll do what I want" and it works

My sewing room's walls are covered with quilts in many bright colors. Other walls in my house are getting filled up with more color than we have in any of the other furniture, carpet, paint colors, etc. Our furniture is mainly browns, beiges, so the pop of color in my wall quilts brings something lively to the room I think. I've always had very colorful placemats, so what if they don't match anything else!

How dull it would be if everything blended in or matched. I say go for the color and smile!
