Default Ricky Tims...worth a class or not??

Ricky is the "featured" teacher at the Okcity winter quilt show in Jan. I am not a fan of his, nor fond of his work, BUT always enjoy watching learning just in case I can pick up something NEW....

have you taken a workshop/class with Ricky and did you get anything out of it???
These are actually NOT classes at all...and $60! What do you think???

Ricky will be offering two 3-hour lecture/demo's on Saturday, January 14, 2012 ONLY:

    Class/Lecture 1: JUST A QUILTING FOOL: MACHINE QUILTING INFORMATION OVERLOAD - $60.00

    Class/Lecture 2: RHAPSODY QUILTS - $60.00

I haven't taken any classes from him, but I bought the pattern Kool Kaleidoscopes, which comes with a DVD. It is very well done and a very kool way to make an interesting quilt, so I would guess that his classes would be well thought out and entertaining. But...$60 just to watch someone for 3 hours? A bit high in my opinion.

I attended a 3-day course by Ricky Tims and found it very informative, and learned a few new things. We just sat in a theater style class, lectures only. I have since done his kalidiscope quilt pattern and thoroughly enjoyed the new experience. I don't think you'll be sorry for attending.

I took his seminar in Houston last fall. He is an engaging speaker and a wealth of information. If I knew for a fact I would be in OKC in January, I would go to his Rhapsody lecture.
