It's only a matter of time for any one who uses a rotary cutter to have an accident. I use several safety products. One for each cutting job.

    1. Rule Steady - Pricey but my favorite. Cost much less then an ER or Dr. visit. http://www.rulesteady.com/
2 Different sizes of Gypsy Gripper.
    3. Quilters Slide Lock http://quiltersslidelock.com/
    4. Accuquilt Go

I am so sorry! I have a friend who sliced off the tips of her index finger and middle about a year ago. I have since convinced her to buy and use a Fons and Porter "Klutz Glove". They also have acrylic finger guards that stick on to the rulers. I got mine at Joann's. Speedy healing.

if no one has mentioned it yet, or even if they have, kevlar gloves will protect your hands. it's the same stuff they make bullet proof vests out of. you can buy them in hobby shops where they sell woodcarving tools, and in other tool stores.

Oh, you poor thing. I wear a machingers glove on my left hand while cutting to help hold my ruler in place. It's a small amount of protection.

Ooooh ow ow ow ow ow! So sorry for your hurts.
I'm like others that thought it was silly when Fons and Porter took the time to put on the glove. Guess it was smart afterall.

Wow....there are some handy tools on this site. Anyone used any of these tools for making accurate triangles?

Fons and Porter makes gloves to wear for safety when using your rotary cutter. Good luck and be safe out there!

Her hubby brings them home for her from the plant he works in. She gave me one and that is what I use. A lot cheaper than Fons and Porter.......
