    Dh &i went to a flooring superstore to look for something to finish flooring he is installing.

    I saw one of those grabber things. i guesss it is used to help lay floor tile. I immediately thought it would work to help hold my large cutting ruler and keep it from slipping.
    will test in next day or so and letr you know how it works. Quilt stores, JA charge $15 and up for similiar device. Another quilt thingy from an unexpected source.

    I bought one at Harbor Freight, and a small one also. I did find it helped me control slippage quite a lot. Much cheaper than the ones sold for quilting and they are the same.

    we use them in our bathroom for my bunnie whos handicaped you might find one at a hardware store. I have also seen them in some in advertisements that come to our house. hope it helps.
