    Default Santa came early!

DH bought me a Bernina 710!!!! It will be dedicated to my quilt frame and I'm excited because it has an 11" harp. Currently I use my Bernina 440 to quilt but it only has approx. a 7" harp. The extra inches will make quilting so much easier and not having to move my heavy machine will be a blessing.

Congrats on your new machine! So nice that it has a larger harp space.

Merry Christmas! I'm also expecting a new machine to arrive just before Christmas. It's on a boat right now and will arrive in a port near me on the 19th of december!

I guess it will be a nice christmas when we can play with our machines. In Sweden (and I guess similarly in the US) the holidays are so spaced out that we have a lot of free time. I only have to take 3 days off to get a 15 days long holiday!

You are so lucky. My husband would never buy me a new machine. I've been wanting to add the "Bliss" table upgrade to my APQS long arm table and I am finally within reach of being able to purchase it myself. I am hoping to order it before XMAS, I guess it is my Xmas present to me. I have been talking about it for a year and wanting it (but I have not had the funds for it)but I know I will have to buy it myself if I want to get it--so count yourself lucky that your husband is so generous. Enjoy your new machine. You are right, it will be nice to have a machine on your longarm frame that you do not have to move on and off all the time.

I would never expect my Husband to buy me a machine. I buy my own and get what I want. We both still work full time.
I have two 9" throat machines and three other back up machines. I don't need anything and we don't have room for a long arm.
Good for all of you getting what you need.

It's exciting to get a new machine! I sewed on the new Bernina 710 in a class and it was really nice.

I got one too! I got it 2 weeks ago, but the day before I got a featherweight and am smitten with it. I have been paper piecing 1/2 square triangles on it (520 to be exact.) Next week, when I am on break, I will open the 710 box and begin to enjoy that as well.
