I tend to save really small pieces. I just finished a quilt with leaves on the border and almost all the different colored leaves were cut from pieces in my green scrap box from strips 1" to pieces as small as 1 1/2" square. I don't know why I keep such pieces, but it is fun to use them.

Every so often I go through my scraps and seperate them by color-and save them in big freezer bags for scrap quilts-I have been croheting rugs with the small strips and selvages

if it's smaller than a 3 x5 brick or a 2 1/2" noodle, it goes in a bag ... somebody will want it.

OMQ think about joining our 1 1/2" swap going on right now. Here's the link to the swappers. PM Missi to get on the list. I have participated several times now. Will help you get to that 10,000 with different fabrics.

I always wonder the same thing, I just want to throw them away but everytime I do I end up digging the 2 gallon overstuffed baggie out of garbage and throwing it in the bottom of closet, I know I will never use them I don't like little pieces and I don't like scrappy anything so what should I do?

This group is the "right" group for any question. Never fails that someone has an answer.

I even take the little bitty pieces and little pieces of thread and put them in the bushes for bird nest. kids thought it was kinda cool when they were little to find the nest with moms "pretty stuff" in them.

Never throw anything away. There is always a use for it.
