I would be very interested in seeing a photo of your square of 2" blocks. I have a lot of them cut from scrappy fabric leftovers and am looking for a pattern that is pleasing. Perhaps if I do a square every now and then, it wouldn't be so tedious and I'd use them up.

Maybe your friend is feeling the same way. I suggest talking to her about getting together to work on your quilts. Maybe one day you can both cut and share squares, and another day sew. It's always fun to have someone to chat with while you work.
Good luck - I hope you finish.

My great-grandmother created a postage stamp quilt by hand-sewing 1" squares of various old clothes together...I can't imagine how many long, cold nights that took!

RELAX and enjoy the process. Don't make this the only thing you are working on and just go to it when you have the mood to do so. I sometimes will put a project down for a few weeks or months till I am looking for something to do and don't feel like cutting. That way it is new again!:)

No, that would be too easy. I am using individual 2" pieces.

I think they wanted each square to be of a different fabric.
Each square WILL be of a different fabric, as long as you use different fabrics for each strip. When you cut across the strips, you will end up with a strip of squares, each one of a different fabric.

I usually read all. However when I read something about "5+ pages" I suddenly realized I am reading only the first page and had not seen "go to page..." What have I been missing!!!

My GS was here for a while today and he started picking up squares for me to sew together. It was so funny because when he left, he wanted to take some squares home with him.
