I have hardwood floors and cannot come up with anything that will keep a presser foot in place. I have tried the sta-pedal units and non-slip rubberized rolls cut into appropriate sized pieces. They all just slide on the hardwood. I am reluctant to stick anything on the floor for fear of damaging the finish. Has anyone solved this problem?

Why not a small rug with the rubberized backing? could probably pick up a carpet sample as long as it has a backing.

If you are talking about foot pedal...try shelf liner or put a rubber mat.
I need to get one myself.

lay a piece of wood strip (as wide as you need) in front of the back legs of your sewing cabinet or table. Your pedal won't go any farther then the piece of wood. A wide plank laminate flooring panel would not harm the finish on your floor.

Yes, I did mean the foot pedal...not the presser foot.
