    Default substitue interfacing?

Hi all... I'm working on a project for a friend's birthday (which is tomorrow!)and, yeah.. I've waited til the last minute.... sigh.... It is a chatelaine, and it calls for fusible interfacing for the pockets, and, of course, I'm out of fusible interfacing. I have some double-sided fusible for applique'... Here's my question: can I use the fusible applique' stuff and adhere something else for the interfacing, maybe a dryer sheet? or some thin fabric? What do you think?

I have used dryer sheets and they are very good but either use a used one or rinse the fabric softener out first.
