What is the best way to use a quilting template/stencil when you start the quilting process? :-o

I only hand quilt, so I just mark and go.

You can either mark your top before you layer and baste it, or after, but I find that marking first (if you're not doing outlining or ditch quilting) is better for me.

I usually mark my quilt after it's layered as I normally hand quilt. And sometimes the quilt will tell me it needs more so I just go back and mark it again! :D
