Default Is there such a thing as 1/4 walking foot?

I got a walking foot with my Janome 11000 and want to put my binding on with the walking foot but have to play with the needle position to try and get an exact 1/4.why doesn't come as a 1/4 ?

I think the walking foot doesn't have a 1/4 inch setting is because that wouldn't give enough traction under the foot. Most walking feet are the thickness of the feeddogs so they can work together to advance the fabric.

I have a Janome also and have a foot for the accufeed that has the 1/4 blade....I do have to set the needle at 56 to get a true 1/4", but it does very well on bindings

I have a Janome 6600P and I do have an accufeed 1/4" foot - like Buckeye - you have to move the needle position. Works great.

I have a Janome too, and have the 1/4 accufeed foot. For a long time I thought it was silly to use this foot because you had to move the needle over. But, silly me, when you move the needle over, the fabric lays directly over the feed dogs and it works great. Good luck, I think you will be pleased with the result when you get it figured out.

the janome 11000 does not have the accufeed feature, so she won't be able to use that foot.

i'd make a note of the needle position once i found the right one and put it on a sticky note.
if you put it on the side of the machine it won't be distracting.
you can use it to keep track of best needle settings for other things, too.

I agree with Tartan. I usually use my 1/4" foot to put my 2.25" double fold binding on.

I have a Janome 6600 with the 1/4" foot but am never sure where to move needle to. I bought the small 1/4" foot but cannot use the accu feed with it. Would like information from other 6600 owners about this

I use a sticky note for my commonly used settings and it fits quite nicely inside the drop down door where the feet store. I am not familiar with your model to know if it has a self contained storage area for feet that would work for you. Just an idea that works for me!

I have a Pfaff that has a built-in walking foot (called an IBT) and I can use my 1/4" with that. I love being able to use the 1/4" foot and the walking foot at the same time.
