Throw pillows. How do I fill in corners?

I found this in my travels somewhere but don't remember where. Dritz Home Pillow Corner Template. Two pieces of mylar, one for the pillow front and one for the pillow back. Each piece slopes slightly for the corners. It has markings on it for pillow measuring between 12" and 20". Sticker price is still on it, $6.[ATTACH=CONFIG]618533[/ATTACH]

When I do the seam to sew the front of the pillow to the back, I sew over a folded piece of batt or stuffing in each corner. It makes it a little harder to push out the corners but the stuffing is right where it is needed. I put in a regular pillow form to finish.
If your machine cannot handle the bulk in the corners, hand sew a folded piece of batt to the corner seam allowance.

First, I don't know where they said make it 2" smaller - that is just too much pillow for the space. I cut my fabric 3/4" to 1" larger than the form depending on how firm I want the finished pillow, sew 1/2" seams and then do a second row of stitching to reinforce (lots of boys in my family and they can be rough with pillows!). I usually do the envelope style because I have to wash them often (same reason!). This makes the pillow form snug and fills the corners. One tool I use for so many things to push into tight spots is a chopstick. They are long and have a blunt end so they don't poke through fabric. Not sure how you could make yours fit now - either find a way to stitch two sides of the form a bit smaller or add a small border to the front of your cover.

I watched a video by Nancy Zieman awhile back and she angles the cut on the corners by about .5 inch starting not quite at the middle on each side. I tried it and it works. If you start around 4" from the corner, put your ruler right at the very edge, then angle it as you get to the corner so you're in by .5" at the corner only, then cut. You'll still sew at your .25 inch or .5 inch....whichever is how you stitch yours. I like sewing a .5 inch for pillows as I then take them to my serger to put a nice stitch along the edge so they don't ravel later on.
