    I was just at a garage sale and they had a treadle machine there and it had FRIEND on it for a name like SINGER is anyone familiar with this name .and where can i find any info on this machine. I might go purchase it they were asking $75.00 for it and it was really in great shape and lots of decals. Thanks for the help mkay

    Probably a branded machine by one of the major sewing machine manufacturers at that time. National Sewing Machine Company, Eldridge Sewing Machine Company...there were a few who would put names on for private stores, etc. Do you have a picture? Any idea how old?

    you might get the model number and check with singerco.com for its date of birth and it may show where it was made, 75 is not a bad price.

    The price is good. I don't now anything about the brand, but if the machine works the brand doesn't really matter to me. Would love to see a pic if you decide to get it.

    To my knowledge, Singer did not "badge" machines for other retailers. The only "Singer" that I'm aware of that doesn't obviously say Singer, is the Spartan.
