    Default Tri Recs ruler

I have this set, bought it a long time ago and never knew what to do with it. I am just a template addict. I was looking at videos and patterns today for the ruler and a lot said to use paper piecing method and after 3 strip quilts that I paper pieced, don't want to do any more of it. Has anyone made blocks from the ruler set and did you paper piece them.

    Thanks,
    Evelyn

Lots more inspiration and eye candy:

Bonnie Hunter used the set when making her mystery quilt, Celtic Solstice:

Yes, I made a star block with them, easy and interesting. Google "tri recs ruler star block" and you'll find several. Fons and Porter also has a video using them.

You can make lots of different quilts with that ruler. No paper piecing involved!!

I've used the rulers and loved them. They remind me of Doreen Speckman with her Peeky and Spike.

Cathedral Stars, a free pattern designed by Bonnie Hunter (www.quiltville.com). I used the same constant colors that Bonnie did (red, black, blue).

It's not a difficult ruler to use; just make sure you cut the little notch off the right triangle. It doesn't look like much, but it really makes a difference in piecing!

Peaceandjoy love your quilt. I have the Tri-Recs and have never used them. The reason I got mine was they were on sale and got them really cheap. Someday I may use them.

I think her idea is what prompted their creation....
