    Default Weighted Blanket/Quilt?

    Hi, Everyone,

Has anyone ever quilted a weighted blanket? My father's doctor recommended he invest in one for health reasons. While looking online for him, I noticed how expensive weighted blankets are and how so many of them are marketed for children with kid-patterned fabrics. I'm thinking of quilting one for him myself, which may be cheaper and which I know he'll appreciate more. Has anyone tried this before? I will take any advice?

    Thanks!

This has been discussed several times before. Here are some posts to get you started. It's sad that there are so many posts... so many in need of this therapeutic aid.

How about the type used in the Dentist office? Make a nice cover for it.

My DD wants one for my DGS. I'm thinking of doing it with removable tubes of the weighting material (rice maybe?) fitting into channels.

I think I read someplace that they used folded sheets in each channel for the weight. Can be taken out for washing.
